How to choose a bed?

You will already understand the temperament of your cat, some cats are insecure and anxious and easily scarred this is quite common, insecure cats will sleep in dark places cupboards or under beds. When your cat is insecure they will be better suited to a covered bed these are called tents dens or caves but basically it's a room with a small door. The walls all around help your cat feel safer and reduce disturbances and in turn, this helps them to sleep better. On the other end of the scale, your cat may be confident and happy and generally content to sit and watch the sounding area as it falls to sleep these sorts of cats prefer more open space when sleeping. In the middle, there are cats that are confident and not so happy they tend to have an aggressive side. These cats need a halfway house. They need sides for privacy but no roof for a quick exit.

What types of beds are there?

Beds can actually just be a simple blanket placed in a warm part of the house the normal ranges sold are designed as a covered cube or an open bed with comfort in mind. Bigger beds can accommodate two cats (if they get on).

Can I wash my cat's bed?

Beds come in two versions some beds can only be washed by hand and some beds can be machine washed either way soft and gentle with pet safe detergents and fabric softeners. Remember your cat is sensitive to some types of smells and try to use a purpose-designed washing product.
